Abuja, Nigeria -Ali Bukar Dalori has officially arrived in Abuja to resume duties as the Acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This development follows the resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, who stepped down from the position on Friday citing health reasons.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) reports that Dalori’s emergence has triggered political conversations within the ruling party.

Although Ganduje claimed to have resigned on health grounds, strong speculation persists that he was compelled to vacate the seat.

Insiders suggest the move may be part of an internal restructuring strategy orchestrated by influential party stakeholders.

Dalori, who previously served as the APC National Vice Chairman (North), hails from Borno State in Nigeria’s North-East region.

He now assumes leadership of the party at a time of rising internal tensions and calls for reform.

Party supporters and journalists captured Dalori’s arrival in Abuja on video, signaling the beginning of his leadership role.

The APC has yet to issue a comprehensive statement detailing the internal process that led to Dalori’s elevation.

However, sources within the party indicate that his appointment was reached through a consensus by key members of the National Working Committee (NWC).

Dalori is widely regarded within the APC as a loyalist with strong grassroots ties, especially in the North-East geopolitical zone.

His experience as a regional party leader is expected to guide him in stabilizing the party amidst mounting challenges.

Some observers believe his emergence could help balance the party’s zoning formula and address grievances from the northern bloc.

Ganduje’s controversial tenure had drawn criticism from both internal and external observers of the party.

He faced allegations of favoritism, lack of inclusivity, and underwhelming performance in steering party cohesion.

His abrupt exit, though explained as health-related, is widely seen as a political maneuver influenced by mounting pressures.

Dalori’s immediate tasks include uniting warring factions within the party, rebuilding public trust, and preparing for upcoming off-cycle elections.

The APC, Nigeria’s ruling party since 2015, is currently navigating internal crises alongside economic and social unrest nationwide.

Political analysts argue that Dalori’s leadership will be tested in the coming months, especially in addressing power dynamics between northern and southern interests.

No formal swearing-in ceremony has been announced yet, but Dalori is expected to begin consultations with senior party members immediately.

Further developments are anticipated as the APC seeks stability under its new acting leadership.
