JUST IN: Explosion rocks Anambra market

Explosion has ripped through Ọgbọ Ọgwụ market in Onitsha, Anambra State.

News Band gathered that the explosion, which occurred on Tuesday morning, destroyed many goods in the market.

Though, a source from the market told this paper that the explosion was caused by chemical. However, this claim could not be independently verified at the time of filing this report.

Meanwhile, when contacted, the Managing Director of the Anambra State Fire Service, Engr. Martin Agbili confirmed the incident, but said the explosion only affected a section of the market.

While noting that the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, the Anambra Fire Chief said his men are currently at the scene battling the fire.
