JUST IN: Israeli forces bombs Iran’s military nerve centres

In a dramatic escalation of the ongoing Middle East conflict, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Monday, June 23, 2025, confirmed it launched precision airstrikes on multiple high-value military and intelligence targets deep inside Iran, including several facilities in Tehran.

According to an official statement from the IDF, published on X, (formerly Twitter), the strikes targeted command centers and strategic infrastructure belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Iran’s internal security forces, and intelligence agencies.

Israeli military sources described the operation as a “calculated response” to sustained Iranian aggression and a warning against further provocations.

Among the key targets hit:

Basij Headquarters – A central stronghold of the IRGC’s paramilitary Basij force, responsible for enforcing Islamic law and reporting civil dissent to regime authorities.

Alborz Corps Command – A powerful IRGC division in charge of overseeing military operations and security in the greater Tehran area.

Thar-Allah Command Center – One of the most critical command nodes tasked with defending the capital, Tehran, from both internal and external threats.

Sayyed al-Shuhada Corps – A domestic force focused on homeland defense and suppressing anti-regime protests and civil unrest across Iran.

General Intelligence Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – A covert agency that supervises Iran’s internal security personnel and controls domestic surveillance, information flow, and media monitoring.

Additional IRGC and security force assets and facilities across the Tehran province were also struck, though specific details were withheld for operational reasons. This marks one of the boldest and most comprehensive Israeli strikes against Iranian infrastructure since hostilities began earlier this month.

It follows Iran’s missile attacks on Israel and the closure approval of the Strait of Hormuz—a key global oil artery—which many international analysts warn could spiral into a broader regional war.

The Israeli government has remained firm in its stance, saying its military actions are aimed at neutralizing what it views as existential threats posed by Iran’s nuclear program and regional proxies.

As of press time, Iran has not officially acknowledged the extent of the damage or casualties, though Iranian state media has reported “multiple explosions” in Tehran and “ongoing defensive operations.”

Civilian panic has been reported in the capital, with widespread blackouts and social media posts showing smoke plumes rising from military zones.

Israel’s strikes come amid growing international concern, as world leaders urge restraint to avoid a full-scale war in the region.

Meanwhile, oil prices spiked earlier today on fears that Iran may retaliate by fully closing the Strait of Hormuz, through which roughly 20% of the world’s oil flows.

This story is developing.
