JUST IN: Medical Plane Crash Kills Six in Kenya

A tragic plane crash has left six people dead and two others seriously injured in Kenya.
The accident happened on Thursday, August 7, 2025, near the capital city, Nairobi.
According to local reports, the small medical aircraft had taken off from Wilson Airport at 2:17 pm local time.
Its destination was Somaliland. However, just over 40 minutes later, the plane went down in Ruiru, Kiambu County.
According to Kiambu County Commissioner Henry Wafula, the crash claimed four lives onboard, including the pilot. Two other people died on the ground when the plane hit a residential area.
“We have lost four people, including the pilot,” Wafula confirmed. “Two more died on the ground. Another two have been seriously injured.”
The crash occurred in a densely populated part of the county. Emergency responders rushed to the scene. First responders battled to rescue survivors from the debris.
Eyewitnesses described a loud explosion followed by thick smoke. Many locals ran for safety as the aircraft struck the residential block. The area was quickly cordoned off by authorities.
Investigations are now underway to find out what caused the crash. Aviation officials and emergency services are working together to secure the crash site.
This tragic event adds to a growing list of recent aviation disasters in Africa. It also highlights the risks faced by small aircraft, especially in developing regions.
President William Ruto is expected to issue a statement soon. Meanwhile, condolences have started pouring in for the victims’ families.
Earlier this week, another crash in Ghana killed two ministers and several others. Many fear that air safety regulations across the region need urgent review.
