Stanley Nwabali, the Super Eagles goalkeeper, just announced the heartbreaking news that he’s lost his father.

Nwabali posted a message on one of his social media handle with a weeping emoji to express his grief over his father.

The goaltender posted a poignant tribute with the words, “Rest in peace, dad”.

This comes just after he played a match against Benin Republic in the AFCON qualifiers on Thursday, November 14.

The cause of death of Nwabali’s father was uncertained as at the time of this report.

Messages of sympathy from fans and well-wishers are already flooding his media page.

They show love and support for the grieving player.

The heartfelt tribute speaks volumes about the strong bond Nwabali shared with his dad.

Stanley Nwabali is a Nigerian professional footballer who’s been making waves in the sports world.

According to report, Nwabali was born on June 10, 1996, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria.

He is a talented goalkeeper who plays for Premier Soccer League club Chippa United and the Nigeria national team.

 

Early Life and Career

Nwabali’s football journey began as a striker at Go Round FC in Nigeria’s second division.

However, his coaches saw potential in him as a goalkeeper, and he made the switch.

This move proved to be a turning point in his career, as he went on to play for several Nigerian clubs, including Enyimba, Wikki Tourists, and Lobi Stars.

 

Rise to Prominence

Nwabali’s big break came when he joined Chippa United in South Africa in 2022.

International Career

Nwabali made his national team debut in 2021 in a friendly match against Mexico.

Despite a disappointing 4-0 loss, he didn’t give up.

His determination paid off when he was called up for the 2023 AFCON squad, marking a remarkable comeback.
