Kachikwu: Group Dares Buhari to Sack Him — Bemoans State of The Nation
The strain and confusion that have trailed the Petroleum and the Power sectors distribution chain respectively in the country that have seen the worst in the last eight months appear unrelenting.
What with the widely reported no holds-barred public upbraiding of the Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr Ibe Kachikwu by the leader and godfather of the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC), Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu for coming out open with Nigerians on what most citizens know about the lingering mess in the petroleum sector.
Addressing journalists in Awka yesterday over the ‘crucify him, crucify him’ call on Dr Kachikwu, a group named Geo-balance and Equity in Governance(GEBGO) warned the ruling party on what it described as “taking the dangerous trend already unleashed on the nation by the APC too far against the South East”.
In its two page address read out to journalists in Awka yesterday, the group’s spokesman, Dr Nwabunwanne Ezufoh noted that Tinubu’s outburst was ungentlemanly excessive, dictatorial, lacking in tact, meant to intimidate and manifest of what the South East know all along.
“That Tinubu and President Muhammadu Buhari never want the Igbos or any Christian to be seen or heard any longer in the country especially in the APC-led federal administration. That it was reason they have all along abandoned steering the ship of the nation which has now hit all manner of rocks, to pursue perceived enemies/opposition and those who do not share the same religious faith and political journey with them, in the name of anti-corruption.
According to the group, Kachikwu, an experienced player in the petroleum sector has seen behind the lies and veil cast by the slumbering administration that it would take at least two months before the nation start getting products supplies from the new APC importers for things to change in the country.
But the lords of the manor never expected the kind of sharp reaction coming from Nigerians. They queried whether it was Kachikwu that turned all the sham promises made as key campaign points to become complete hoaxes and bundle of falsehood.
Enumerating some of the bizarre steps and policy summersault of the administration, GEBGO pointed out the sing song of blaming ex-President Goodluck Jonathan for everything little challenge, including climatic disorders; TSA; sacking of 13 universities Governing Councils; election of National Assembly officers and the killings in Kogi, Rivers and Akwa Ibom over INEC bungled elections amongst others.
Also listed was the issue of routing Boko Haram, rescue of Chibok school girls; payment of redundancy benefit to jobless Nigerians, payment to Youth Corpers, mess of 2016 budget which was yet to be sorted out; making rate of foreign exchange to be S1 -N1, but it got so high to N400 to the dollar until the patriotic intervention of an illustrious Igbo son, Dr Ifeanyi Ubah; the long queues that have become the trademark all over the nation’s fuel stations just as the unprecedented massive importation and sales of generating sets has literally become normal while Tinubu is seeking out on how to throw Igbos in lagoons as squealed by their boss earlier.
GEBGO noted that while the nation has now been dragged to its economic, social and political Golgotha, “our dear president and his henchmen like Tinubu continue to sleep and wake up in tens of foreign lands whereas no one wants to come here, or do business with ‘country of criminals’. The roads have remained abandoned and impassable.
The power generation, the group noted, has hit the lowest in history that no citizen gets three cumulative hours of electricity supply in a week presently. While the premium motor spirit(PMS) now sells for between N160-N220 per liter instead of the published N86.50 per litre. This was contrary to the promise to make it N45 per litre if we are elected, and the enlisting Nigeria as a full fledged Islamic nation as only meetings, loans and coalitions of such countries now appeal to the leaders, while the citizens are fed half truths.
The group, Dr Ezufoh pointed out will ensure that the five percent vote given to APC during the last general election would enter into negative in the next election if the trend continues.
Attempts to get reactions from the APC chapter in Awka has not yielded any result as neither the state chairman nor his publicity secretary Okelo Madukaife’s telephone lines were answered.
