Kamala Harris: Democrat’s nominee cancels election night speech
Democrat’s nominee, Kamala Harris has reportedly canceled her election night speech amidst Donald Trump’s strong performance in the US Presidential race.
Harris’ campaign co-chair Cedric Richmond in Washington said “you won’t hear from the vice president tonight but you will hear from her tomorrow.”.
According to the Diaspora Digital Media (DDM), the development comes as Trump’s campaign gains momentum.
“Trump is surging ahead, leaving Harris with a narrow path to victory in this nail-biting presidential race with crucial wins in North Carolina and Georgia,” a report stated.
The Republican Party has regained control of the Senate, winning two Democratic seats and bolstering Trump’s political momentum.
“The shift in power is significant, as it gives the Grand Old Party an advantage in shaping legislative agendas and policy decisions.”
Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign faced challenges in regions where Democrats had hoped to make significant gains.
“Despite vigorous efforts, Harris is struggling to secure a strong foothold in these key areas.”
“As a result, her campaign team has canceled a planned watch party in Washington, D.C. initially intended to celebrate election night.”
With a few votes to seal the victory for Donald Trump, various news outlets in the U.S. are projecting a win in favor of the Republican.
