(DDM) – Popular Kannywood actress Rahama Sadau has tied the knot with her yet-to-be-identified partner in a private nikkah ceremony.

DDM gathered that the wedding took place on Saturday at the Atiku Auwal Mosque in Unguwan Rimi, Kaduna, with only clerics, close family members, and a few friends in attendance.

A video from the event showed prayers being offered by religious leaders as the couple formalised their union.

The actress later confirmed the marriage in an Instagram post, sharing scenes from the ceremony and subsequent celebrations with her sisters and close friends.

“Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem… Alhamdulillah, My Nikkah was done today,” she wrote, expressing gratitude and joy.

She added that she was “officially a Mrs” and prayed for her marriage to be blessed with love, tranquility, and prosperity, while asking for the public’s prayers as she embarks on the new journey.

Rahama Sadau’s wedding comes after years of public scrutiny from sections of her Arewa fan base, who criticised her flamboyant fashion style and occasional deviation from conservative northern theatre norms.

Despite the backlash, she has remained one of the most recognisable faces in Kannywood, expanding her career to Nollywood and international projects while advocating for creative freedom in northern cinema.

The marriage marks a new chapter for the actress, who has maintained a relatively private personal life despite her fame.

Fans and colleagues from across the entertainment industry have flooded her social media pages with congratulatory messages, celebrating her new status as a married woman.

The identity of her husband remains undisclosed, fuelling curiosity among her followers, but sources say the couple chose to keep the occasion intimate and away from the glare of public attention.

The event’s simplicity reflects a growing trend among northern celebrities who opt for private religious weddings over lavish public ceremonies.
