Katsina Police arrest Two in 12-Year-Old Boy’s murder

Katsina Police Command has arrested two suspects involved in the tragic murder of a 12-year-old boy.

On January 13, 2025, the Katsina Police successfully apprehended two individuals linked to the kidnapping and subsequent murder of Salihu Sadi.

The incident occurred in Dankama town, located in the Kaita Local Government Area.

According to reports, Salihu was kidnapped on January 11, 2025, while running an errand for his mother.

Specifically, he went to a nearby pharmacy around 8:00 PM when the kidnappers seized him.

Later that same evening, at approximately 9:00 PM, the kidnappers contacted Salihu’s family.

They demanded an exorbitant ransom of N25 million, creating immense distress for the grieving family.

Despite their efforts to negotiate with the kidnappers, the family faced refusal.

Tragically, the kidnappers ultimately murdered Salihu, abandoning his lifeless body on the outskirts of Dankama town.

Following the report of the crime, Commissioner of Police Katsina State Command, Aliyu Abubakar Musa, psc+, took immediate action.

He dispatched the command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU) to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter.

During the investigation, operatives successfully identified and arrested two suspects.

Authorities identified the suspects as 24-year-old Muttaka Garba, alias Auta, and 20-year-old Yusuf Usman, alias Kwalwa.
Notably, both suspects confessed to their involvement in the heinous crime.

Furthermore, the police recovered the phone used to make the ransom demand.

This crucial evidence will aid in the ongoing investigation and prosecution of the suspects.

In a post on X (Twitter) dated January 14, 2024, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu emphasized the commitment of the Katsina Police Command.

He stated, “We are dedicated to ensuring justice for Salihu and his family.”

The suspects will face charges in court as soon as the investigations conclude.

The Katsina Police Command remains resolute in its fight against crime and violence in the region.
