BAKU, AZERBAIJAN – The Khazar University, in collaboration with the Government of Azerbaijan, has announced multiple scholarship opportunities for international students applying for Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD programmes for the 2026–2027 academic session.
The scholarship scheme is aimed at attracting international students by offering fully funded and partially funded study options across a wide range of academic disciplines, positioning Azerbaijan as a growing destination for affordable higher education.
The programme includes government grants, tuition fee waivers, monthly stipends, airfare support, visa assistance, and medical insurance coverage for selected applicants.
Officials stated that the initiative is part of Azerbaijan’s broader effort to expand international academic cooperation and increase access to globally competitive education.
The scholarships are available for Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD programmes across several academic fields.

University officials noted that many of these programmes are offered in English, making them accessible to international students without requiring Azerbaijani language proficiency at the entry stage.
The scholarship structure includes the Heydar Aliyev International Education Grant, which provides full tuition coverage, monthly stipends, airfare, visa support, and medical insurance for selected students.
The Azerbaijani government is expected to award around 100 international education grants annually under this programme.
Students who do not qualify for full funding may still benefit from Khazar University’s merit-based tuition waivers, which reduce fees by 25%, 50%, or 75% depending on academic performance.
A special opportunity also exists through the Nailekhanim Foundation Scholarship, targeted at outstanding female postgraduate students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and commitment to research.
Applicants are generally required to submit academic transcripts, certificates, CVs, recommendation letters, and proof of English proficiency, while postgraduate applicants may also need research proposals.
Selection is based on academic merit, eligibility criteria, and document evaluation, with successful candidates notified after the review process.
Education analysts say Azerbaijan is gaining popularity among international students due to its affordable cost of living, expanding English-taught programmes, and increasing global academic partnerships.
