Mustapha Kwankwaso, son of former presidential candidate Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has resigned from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).

In a statement shared on his Facebook page, Mustapha said the decision was not made lightly but came after careful thought.

The former Kano State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development also confirmed that he is already in the process of joining the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

His move comes just a day after his father also stepped down from the NNPP and prepared to join the ADC, signaling a broader political shift within their camp.

Mustapha explained that his decision is based on his belief that the ADC offers a better platform to bring meaningful change, especially in Kano State.

He added that the party aligns with his goals of promoting good governance, economic growth, and improving the lives of Nigerians.

Overall, his move marks another key development in the ongoing political realignments ahead of the 2027 elections.
