Lateef Adedimeji Says Recognition as an Icon Feels “Surreal” After Award Win

Nollywood actor and producer Lateef Adedimeji has opened up about his journey in the film industry following his recent recognition at the Africa Illustrious Awards.

Sharing moments from the event where he was honoured for his impact, the award-winning actor reflected on how his purpose has evolved over the years. According to him, what began as a simple desire to showcase his creativity and make a name for himself has grown into a mission to inspire others.

“When I set out on this journey, the goal was pretty simple: to find creative ways to show the world what I can do, and then make a name for myself while at it,” he said.

“As growth set in, the goal shifted further to inspiring every young dreamer. All I’ve done over the years is to achieve this.”

Lateef described the recognition as deeply meaningful, noting that it represents years of hard work, dedication, professionalism, and determination. He also expressed how surreal it feels to now be regarded among the icons he once admired.

The actor, who is also a proud father of triplets, expressed gratitude to the organisers of the Africa Illustrious Awards for the honour, while affirming that he has no plans of slowing down.

“Thank you for this. I’m grateful, and I’m not ready to stop,” he said.
