Former SGF Babachir Lawal has firmly denied rumors connecting Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Rotimi Amaechi, and Nasir El-Rufai to the All Democratic Alliance (ADA).
He dismissed these claims as false, emphasizing that the politicians were never consulted.
Speaking to Reporters, Lawal criticized Usman Ardo, ADA’s promoter, for using their names without permission.
He accused Ardo of misleading the public by suggesting their involvement.

“Ardo lacks authorization to mention these leaders,” Lawal stated.
“While he can attempt registration, time constraints make ADA unviable before 2027.” He stressed that opposition figures are pursuing a more feasible strategy.
Instead of creating a new party, Lawal revealed that key opposition members are merging with an existing one.
He confirmed that negotiations are ongoing to assign leadership roles within the coalition.
“We’ve agreed to join an established party,” he said. “Key resignations have already occurred to accommodate fresh leadership.”
The coalition is finalizing appointments for chairman, secretary, and other critical positions.
Lawal noted that the group includes ex-APC members, former Buhari ministers, and other influential figures.
He emphasized that they are joining as individuals rather than representing any party bloc.
