Leaked video: “Understanding wife is trying”, netizens slam Egungun of Lagos

Popular content creator Mr. Kuye Adegoke, also known as Egungun of Lagos, has been criticized by Nigerians on social media for his leaked private video.

Egungun of Lagos was seen flashing his private area to the woman on the video chat while brushing his teeth.

He was wearing shorts in the leaked footage that has gone viral on social media.

His wife, Pashotah, had publicly addressed a blackmail attempt involving her husband’s private films prior to the video going viral.

On Sunday, she defended the husband on Instagram, posting: “Hi guys, someone is blackmailing me with my husband’s videos.

“My name is Pashotah and y’all know my husband is, obviously I know so many people have wanted to bring both of us down including guys and girls.

“I always choose to ignore but I’m not ignoring today cuz the blackmailer didn’t go to Egungun of Lagos directly to blackmail him but he came to me instead cos (sic) he has a motive of putting me to shame like he said his messages above but one thing he (blackmailer) doesn’t know is that this relationship between myself and my husband is not just built today, this relationship has been coming for over 6-8 years when we both had nothing.

“This relationship is built on trust, understanding, loyalty, commitment and so many more.

“So there is nothing that can bring us down, not even now”.

Online media users react

However, this change has generated a lot of internet discussion.

Many people have casted doubt on Egungun’s prior reputation as a family man, online.

Netizens felt that this had slandered his wife for her adamant defense of their marriage.

While some concluded that Egungun’s behavior betrayed his wife’s trust, others suggested that the video might have been a misinterpretation or an old footage meant to damage his reputation.

On X.com, a user going by the handle #Dr. Penking wrote: “So Egungun wife watched that video and still had the temerity to come out and defend him?

“I thought we all agreed that Nigerian women now know their worth.

“Where was she when that decision was made? ”

Another user, Peace Ighodaro, commented: “Egungun’s wife is the perfect definition of an understanding wife”.

A Facebook user, Billzcollecshun, who also posted on the topic remarked: “Women supporting men in the mud, she must have left their association overnight”.

According to Mercy Akuma: “Egungun wife has every right to stick to her man no matter what she seesIt’s her choice”.

Meanwhile, another handle with name Mr. Afowose expressed his opinion, saying: “So she should leave him and go where?

“Yo, another man that would still cheat and not love her like her husband is doing?

“The fact that y’all think a man cheating and a woman cheating is the same will always be funny because women will choose a cheater who is taking care of her 50 times over a broke niqqa”.

Another X.com user, tweeted with the name #Chance Da Mayor.

The tweet read: “Wait oh! una want make she leave her husband?

“Her place is with her husband oh forget the blackmailer issue.

“I respect her defence”.

Jimmy01 in his remark said: “She knows she has a lot to loose if she comes out offensively of her husband, and to the media, she has to be defensive of her husband and behind, something is really hitting her so hard, cos wtf her husband private vid is up for everyone to see on the media…

“Hell No”.

David Isemin wrote: “She would have just stayed silent on the matter.

“That would have been a more better damage control”.
