Major Gen. EF Oyinlola has officially taken command of the Special Task Force, Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), in Jos, Plateau State.
This transition occurred during a formal ceremony held on Tuesday.
He succeeds Maj Gen AE Abubakar, who has been redeployed to the National Defence College (NDC) in Abuja as Deputy Commandant.
During the ceremony, Maj Gen Abubakar sincerely expressed gratitude to the personnel.
He acknowledged their unwavering dedication and support throughout his tenure.
Moreover, he pointed out that their dedication played a crucial role in the successful execution of several initiatives.
As a result, their hard work was key in reaching the organization’s objectives and fulfilling its mission.
He acknowledged the significant role played by critical stakeholders in enhancing security and stability in the command’s Area of Responsibility.
“I encourage you all to support the incoming commander to build on the operational gains we have achieved,” Abubakar urged the troops.
In his address, Maj Gen Oyinlola praised his predecessor for effectively repositioning the operation and achieving notable successes.
He assured the troops of his commitment to sound administration and prioritizing their welfare.
“My command philosophy will focus on enhancing discipline, dedication, and professionalism to end the cycle of violence in our Joint Operations Area,” he stated.
The event, which was quite significant, included several key activities. First, they signed the handing and taking over notes.
Next, there was the transfer of the OPSH command insignia, symbolizing a change in leadership. Furthermore, the troops were addressed, boosting morale and unity among everyone present.
After that, a quarter guard ceremony took place, honoring the commitment and service of the soldiers involved.
