Man sells two children for two bags of rice in Lagos

2 Children aged 8 and 13 are believed to have been abducted by a man said to be their relation; abducted the children, on their way from extra moral class

Two children aged eight and thirteen are believed to have been abducted by a man said to be their relation.  

The young man, on Wednesday abducted the two children, on their way back from extra moral class. 

The incident took place in the Satellite area of Lagos.

The young man exchanged the children for two bags of rice, at a shop which is located at No. 63, Marwa Road, near Chemist Bus Stop, Satellite Town, Lagos. 

The man left the children with the shop owner being deceived that he will soon come back after ascertaining, if the bag of rice is the one the buyer needed.

Speaking with VANGUARD, the owner of the shop Mrs. Silverline said “he, (the abductor) told my sales girl that the mother of the children needed Indian rice.

“But my sales girl told him that we had Brazilian rice and that it was good.

“He made a phone call to someone he claimed was the mother of the children.

“At the end said he will like to take the bags of rice to the woman, but my girl insisted on following him to collect the money for the bags of rice (N40,000.00) should the woman agree to buy.”

Then “the stranger said he would ride on motorcycle with the bags of rice, while my girl follow with the children  on foot, but on reaching the purported restaurant, the owner said she don’t know the children. 

“They walked to Ijegun end of Satellite without any sight of the abductor”.                                               

As the children were asked about the man that brought them, they said the man is not their father.

An eye witness, Ifeoma John, said that “immediately the abductor left with the bags of rice, a man who claimed to be the biological father of the children arrived, alleging that his children have been hypnotized by the abductor.”

Meanwhile, policemen from Satellite Division, when contacted, said there is onging investigation into the matter.
