The new Vice Chancellor of Adamawa State University (ADSU), Dr. Moses Zaruwa said he was given a mandate from the ministry of Higher Education to restore back the credibility and Excellence of Adamawa State University.

During his first Management meeting in the institution, Moses told them that his cardinal vision is to make sure he claim back the lost glory of ADSU which was bastardized by insurgents’ attacks.

He added that he is with a mission to reconcile all warring factions within the academic system as he has already constituted a committee of reconciliation that will reconcile all those that felt aggrieved and hurt over the internal crisis that rocked the institution.

“I am here to make sure peace is restored, I am not here to witch hunt anybody; as a matter of fact I am not here to settle scores with my colleagues,” he said.

Dr. Zaruwa, who is serving as the Vice Chancellor on acting capacity for two times, lamented how the institution has suddenly degraded down in terms of academics performance from what it use be.

According to him, ADSU, some years back, is among the best universities in the country, but because of insurgents activities the school has not been in session for complete academic calendar.

This contributed to the school’s later myriads of internal problems that led to even strikes.

The acting Vice chancellor who is pharmacologist reiterated that his tenure will be characterised with creation of new Faculties that will address the issues of unemployment in the state, to fast-track in building of Faculty of Medicine and law that has been in the pipe line of the school academic plan.

Moses continue that a good arrangement has been in place with the Chinese embassy to introduce Chinese language as a course that will further help in learning much about Chinese herbal medicine.

The course will help in harnessing the rich potentials the state has in alternative medicine.

It would  be recalled that former VC was sacked.
