Former Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambulwa, has been granted administrative bail by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after interrogating him over alleged financial misconduct.
Tambuwal, a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, is under investigation for reportedly withdrawing about ₦189 billion during his tenure as Governor.
A senior EFCC official, who doesn’t want to be quoted, confirmed that Tambulwa was granted bail after providing the information required by investigators.
“He has already been granted administrative bail. We’ve extracted what we need from him, and he will soon leave our headquarters after perfecting his bail conditions,” the source stated.
Mr. Dele Oyewale, the spokesman of the anti-graft agency, confirmed the development on Tuesday night but declined to comment further.
