Nollywood icons, Rita Dominic and Ramsey Nouah have taken the spotlight in Lusaka, Zambia, where they attended the premiere of 77: The FESTAC Conspiracy, the sequel to the acclaimed Nollywood film 76. The screening formed part of the Africa Creative Market 2026, as the cast and producers promoted African storytelling and cinema on the continental stage.
The historical drama 77: The FESTAC Conspiracy is a sequel to 76, which was released in 2016 and explored true-life events surrounding the assassination of former Nigerian Head of State, General Murtala Mohammed.
The new film is produced and executive produced by Adonis Productions, Tonye Princewill, and directed by Izu Ojukwu. It continues the story with a focus on the political and cultural atmosphere of FESTAC ’77.
At the Lusaka premiere, Ramsey Nouah and Rita Dominic revealed that they gained weight for their roles in the film, in order to better fit the demands of their characters. Ramsey Nouah also disclosed that part of the movie was shot in Lebanon, a decision driven by the need to recreate the period setting authentically.
The actors’ presence in Zambia also highlighted the wider mission of the Africa Creative Market, which is aimed at strengthening Africa’s creative economy and encouraging collaboration across the continent’s film and entertainment industries. 77: The FESTAC Conspiracy is being positioned as one of Nollywood’s major historical productions, carrying forward a story rooted in Nigeria’s political history and African cultural identity.

What would you do if you or someone close to you was bitten by a venomous snake? Would you know the right first aid to give, or could your actions make the situation even worse?Dr. Odera Nwankwo, a Pediatric Intensivist and Associate Professor of Pediatrics, has shared simple but life-saving advice on how to help a snakebite victim before they get to the hospital.He explained that some snakebites cause local symptoms, such as pain, swelling, and redness around the bite, while others allow the venom to spread throughout the body. When this happens, it can become a medical emergency and may even be fatal if treatment is delayed.According to Dr. Nwankwo, the victim should be kept calm, the affected arm or leg should be kept as still as possible, the head should be properly supported, and firm pressure may be applied over the bite area where appropriate. He stressed that the victim should be taken to the nearest hospital immediately for proper medical care.He also warned against common mistakes that many people make after a snakebite. These include trying to suck out the venom with the mouth, cutting the bite with a knife, or tying a tight tourniquet around the affected limb.
