The Nigeria Customs Service has reached an unprecedented revenue milestone, collecting ₦189.5 billion between November 2024 and mid-April 2025 through its innovative B’Odogwu system.
Comptroller Tenny Daniyan of PTML Command shared this achievement during their quarterly briefing, marking a new era in customs operations.
On April 14, 2025, the command made history by generating ₦5.6 billion in a single day – their highest daily collection in two decades.
Daniyan described this breakthrough as divinely favored, emphasizing how technology transformed their revenue capabilities.
The first quarter of 2025 saw ₦90.2 billion collected, representing 38.8% growth from 2024’s figures.
This remarkable progress stems from Comptroller-General Adeniyi’s visionary leadership and the B’Odogwu system’s efficiency.
As the pilot command for this digital solution, PTML’s success has prompted nationwide rollout plans across all customs formations.
The technology has eliminated previous bottlenecks while accelerating trade processes.
Beyond revenue gains, PTML now clears compliant RoRo shipments within two hours, with plans to reduce this to one hour. Daniyan warned traders against false declarations, stating such practices automatically disqualify them from fast-track clearance. The command has also prepared for expanded trade volumes, including newly approved pharmaceutical imports.
