NDDC condoles with Akwa Ibom Governor on wife’s loss

A delegation from the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), led by the Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, on Monday, paid a condolence visit to the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Bassey Umo Eno, on the demise of his wife, Mrs. Patience Bassey Umo Eno.

The visit to the Ikot Ekpene Udo, Nsit Ubium country-home of the Governor, underlined the Commission’s solidarity with the governor and the people of Akwa Ibom State during this difficult time.

Dr. Ogbuku, who was accompanied by members of the Management Board, were joined by officials from the State Office of the Commission led by the State Rep, Apostle Abasiandikan Nkono.

The MD expressed his heartfelt condolences to the governor and his family, noting that the Her Excellency’s passing was received with shock, as it was untimely, and prayed that God would give the family and the entire State the fortitude to bear the loss.

“The NDDC family is deeply saddened by the loss of your beloved wife, Mrs. Patience Bassey Umo Eno.

“We pray that God will grant you and your family the strength and courage to bear this irreparable loss. We also pray that her soul will rest in perfect peace,” he said.

Ogbuku also conveyed condolences from the Chairman of the Commission, Chiedu Ebie, and pledged the support of the NDDC in the funeral activities.

In his response, Governor Umo Eno thanked the NDDC team for their condolence visit, noting that it was significant, given Akwa Ibom’s status as a key state in the Niger Delta.

He expressed optimism on continuing to have a good working relationship with the current management and board of the Commission.

“I want to thank you for this visit. It’s a very significant gesture, and I appreciate it. I’m looking forward to continuing working with the NDDC to develop our State and the Niger Delta region. I’m confident that we can achieve great things together,” the Governor declared.

Members of the NDDC team were Hon. Victor Antai, Executive Director Projects; Mr. Patrick Ekade, Director of Administration; Mr. Edgar Okpozor, Director of Security; Engr. Uno Uno, Director of Utility Infrastructure Development and Waterways; Mr. Davies Okarevu, Director of Planning and Research; Mrs. Imaobong Obosi, Representative of the Director of Community and Rural Development; Mrs Anthonia Akpan, State Director; Mrs Ndifreke Essien, Assistant State Director; and Mr Brown Nobert, Assistant State Director.
