The NDDC is responsible for implementing projects and programs aimed at improving the quality of life for the people in the region, including infrastructure development, education, healthcare, and economic empowerment.

The Niger Delta region is a resource-rich area with a long history of oil and gas production, but it has faced significant environmental degradation, poverty, and instability.

The NDDC was created to address these challenges and ensure that the region benefits from its natural resources.
