Information reaching Diaspora Digital Media has it that Nigerian troops have arrested a female ally of terror kingpin, Bello Turji.

The troops from Sector 2 Joint Task Force North West arrested Shamsiyya Ahadu, a 25-year-old lady, who is Turji’s leading ammunition courier.

According to the statement released on Sunday, Ahadu was arrested on December 28 alongside her accomplice, a motorcyclist, Ahmed Husaini, in the Badarawa area of Shinkafi LGA.

Reche was found in possession of 764 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and six magazines meant to be delivered to the camp of wanted terrorist kingpin Bello Turji.

“Her arrest followed an intelligence report regarding the movement of the terrorists’ logistics along the road from Kware to Badarawa communities in the Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara state.

“In response to the development, troops of Operation Fansan Yamma promptly established a roadblock leading to the apprehension of the suspects.

“Both suspects are currently undergoing investigation by appropriate authorities,” the statement added.

It reiterated the commitment of the troops to dismantling all terrorist networks as well as prevent the illegal movement of arms and ammunition within its theatre of operation.

“Members of the public are therefore urged not to relent in their efforts at providing credible information that would lead to the arrest of wanted terrorists and their collaborators,” said the military.

The Nigerian military has offered a reward for information leading to his capture, but so far, Turji remains elusive.

The Bello Turji fact-file

Bello Turji Kachalla popularly known as Turji, born 1994, is a notorious Nigerian terrorist and bandit leader operating in North-western Nigeria, particularly Zamfara, Sokoto and Niger states.

He came to prominence in 2022, when bandits under his control carried out a series of massacres in Zamfara, resulting in the deaths of nearly 200 innocent people, including women and children.

Born in Shinkafi local government of Zamfara State, Northern Nigeria, Turji was raised as a Fulani cattle herder without education.

In an exclusive interview with Daily Trust Newspaper, he claims that some of his family’s cattle were stolen by a pro-security forces vigilante group called the Ƴan Sakai who also murdered six of Turji’s siblings.

Turji also claims his father tried to sue the Emir of Zurmi (to whom the stolen cattle were given) but his efforts failed, and that the Yan Sakai killed his uncle.

Bello Turji is known to have been responsible for numerous massacres and terrorist attacks against civilians and security forces in the North West region of the country, especially Zamfara and Sokoto states.

In December 2021, Turji’s forces attacked a bus in Sabon Birni, setting it on fire and burning the passengers inside to death with 30 people dying in the ambush.

Turji was the mastermind behind the slaughter of over 200 people in Zamfara state in January 2022.

He is a rival of another bandit leader named Dogo Giɗe.
