Nigerian women prefer sex toys instead of marital squabble

Nigerian women are reportedly rushing sex toys, majorly known as dildos, as means to counter escalating marital squabbles with their spouses, as the sex toy industry is booming and dildos are flying off the shelves.

The development is coming despite Nigeria’s deep religious behavior towards sex, which is often a “sacred” topic.

Taking to her social media handle on Saturday, September, 28, 2024, Miss. Eniola, surname withheld, gives reason why Nigeria women prefer sex toy to their partners.

According to PUNCH report dated Saturday, September 28, most days of the week, Eniola is as busy as a bee, catering to the diverse clientele who patronise her adult shop.

A wide array of intimate products and sex toys include lingerie, sexual enhancers, lubricants, vibrators, dildos, and BDSM kits.

She said her customers do not have to come physically, that the business has evolved beyond that.

She also said she sells more of her products through social media platforms and messaging apps to meet the demand of her customers.

The customers will call her, stating the type and quantity of product they want.

She, inturn, will get across to them with the desired products.

A graduate from the state university, Eniola said she entered into the sex toy business in 2020 after her graduation.

She claims she made five times the profit just in one year and according to her, most of her patronizers are divorced.

Some though are single, while others are married; amongst the married ones, some have spouses outside their locality.

She also said that most of her clients are women, though a handful are men.

Eniola said that their maximum pleasure is her goal, adding while smiling brightly her WhatsApp number for prospective clients to reach her.

A customer was interviewed about dildos and asked if the economic situation affects her family relationship.

She stated that the idea was initiated during COVID-19 era, and she made a lot of purchases during that period.

According to her, the lockdown and social distancing affected many relationships.

She noted that many lovers were stranded, which made her to start buying the products for her sexual fulfilment.

She said: “Instead of me cheating on my husband, I rather use sex toys to satisfy myself.

“So, I ordered a vibrator and dildo. So, I am helping my man’s weakness.”

In order words, she said, “it is very safe to use dildos than to mess around with men and contact infection.

“So, I prefer satisfying myself with dildos than to allow men to break my heart.”
