‘Nigerians are dying because Tinubu is their president!’–Kenneth Okonkwo explodes over Benue, Plateau massacres

Veteran Nollywood actor and former spokesperson of the Labour Party, Kenneth Okonkwo, has launched a fierce attack on President Bola Tinubu, blaming him for the continued killings in Benue, Plateau, and other crisis-ridden parts of Nigeria.
In a heated interview on News Central TV, Okonkwo accused Tinubu of failing to protect the lives of innocent Nigerians.
He said the blood of citizens being murdered daily lies squarely at the feet of the President.
According to him, those who praise the current administration are insulting the memories of the victims.
“There is no way anybody will be praising this government and not appearing like a fool,” Okonkwo fumed.
He slammed Tinubu’s handling of the economy, citing the sudden removal of fuel subsidy during the President’s inauguration without a cabinet in place.
“Fuel price rose from N195 to N617 in one slope. Then they floated the naira and it depreciated drastically. The only thing they tell Nigerians is to be patient,” he lamented.
He argued that patience has become a cruel joke. “Six months, one year, two years—half of the administration’s term is gone, and people are still being told to wait. Meanwhile, hunger is ravaging homes,” he added.
The Labour Party chieftain did not hold back while discussing the persistent bloodshed in Benue and Plateau states. He said people are being massacred daily under Tinubu’s watch.
“People are dying every day—not because they committed crimes—but because Tinubu is their President and he can’t defend them,” he said angrily.
He expressed disbelief that despite Benue being governed by a Reverend Father and under the same APC political umbrella as the President, lives are still being lost to terrorists and killer herdsmen. “No solution in sight, no serious effort, no end to the killings,” he stressed.
Okonkwo also touched on widespread insecurity in the Northwest and Southwest, including disturbing cases of kidnappers burning victims alive. He claimed the government is more concerned with political intelligence than securing its citizens.
“They prepare political security reports for Tinubu’s benefit but ignore intelligence that could protect lives. That is criminal negligence,” he said.
According to him, security is the most basic responsibility of any administration, and Tinubu has failed woefully.
“A government that cannot protect its people has already failed,” Okonkwo concluded.
His remarks have since sparked strong reactions online, with many Nigerians echoing his sentiments about worsening insecurity and economic hardship.
