NiMET forecast hazy, cloudy weather nationwide from Monday to Wednesday

In a weather outlook released on Sunday in Abuja, NiMet forecasts significant weather changes. The North and North-Central regions will experience dust haze during this period.

Visibility will range between 1 km and 5 km in these areas. Localized visibility may drop below 1,000 meters throughout the forecast.

NiMet also in its Post on social media Platform X (Formerly Twitter) indicates that the southern region will also see hazy conditions, accompanied by patches of clouds.

On Tuesday, the North and North-Central regions will again face dust haze, maintaining similar visibility conditions.

In the South, expect early morning mist and fog patches along the coastal areas. Later in the day, sunny skies will shine over inland states with occasional clouds.

By Wednesday, good visibility dust haze will prevail in the northern region. The North-Central area will also have dust haze, but with moderate visibility between 1 km and 5 km.

In the southern region, mist or fog patches will likely occur over the coastal areas. Meanwhile, inland states will experience a hazy atmosphere with a few clouds.

NiMet also predicts slim chances of thunderstorms developing later in the day. Areas such as Cross River, Bayelsa, Lagos, and Akwa Ibom may see these thunderstorms.

Residents are advised to remain alert and prepared for changing weather patterns. As the week progresses, individuals should take necessary precautions, especially regarding reduced visibility.

Travelers should plan their journeys carefully due to the expected weather conditions. The agency urges everyone to monitor updates for any shifts in the forecast.

NiMet’s forecast highlights varied weather across Nigeria this week. From dust haze in the North to potential thunderstorms in the South, it’s crucial to stay informed.
