The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has confirmed the arrest of Obi Levi Obieze, a wanted criminal suspect.
Also known as Levi Obu Onyeka, he faced allegations of abduction, kidnapping, and ritual killings.
ACI AS Akinlabi, the NIS spokesperson, announced the arrest in an official statement today.
According to Comptroller General KN Nandap, officers captured Obieze on May 28, 2025.
The NIS Lagos Border Patrol Command intercepted him at the Gbaji checkpoint along Badagry-Seme Road.
He attempted to escape Nigeria on a motorcycle before his arrest.
Obieze, a native doctor from Umuojor village, allegedly kidnapped a 13-year-old girl on May 27, 2025.
Reports state that three men abducted the victim while she walked with her father.
Police later rescued her from a shrine tied to Obieze, as published in a national newspaper.
Authorities identified Obieze using an NIMC enrollment slip found on him.
During questioning, he reportedly confessed to the crimes.
The NIS is now coordinating with the police to transfer him for further investigation.
