On March 20, 2025, NMDPRA praised FRSC Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed for rapid crisis responses during a Technical Committee visit in Abuja.

Led by Engineer Ogbugo Okoha, NMDPRA’s delegation highlighted FRSC’s pivotal role in reducing tanker-related crashes and saving lives nationwide.

Additionally, Okoha commended Mohammed’s hands-on dedication, urging agencies to emulate his proactive safety strategies for broader impact.

He emphasized that NMDPRA-FRSC collaboration streamlined the committee’s efforts, slashing crash rates and enhancing emergency outcomes significantly.

However, Okoha expressed concern over Kugbo’s recent tanker accident, though Mohammed’s on-site command accelerated rescue efforts and restored normalcy swiftly.

In response, Mohammed reaffirmed FRSC’s commitment to partnerships, praising the committee’s resolve and stressing unity for shared safety goals.

He outlined plans to expand driver education, tackling root causes like low literacy that exacerbate road risks.

The visit underscored how regulatory-enforcement partnerships save lives, with both agencies vowing to intensify collaborative efforts.

They pledged to transform Nigeria’s transport networks into safer systems through innovation, compliance, and relentless accountability.

Notably, Okoha recalled Mohammed’s crisis leadership, inspiring teams to blend efficiency with empathy during high-pressure rescues.
