NNPC Ltd/FIRST E&P Joint Venture hosts health outreach in Bayelsa

Abuja, February 1, 2025 — In a significant step toward improving healthcare delivery in Nigeria, the NNPC Ltd/FIRST E & P Joint Venture conducted a successful health outreach program.

Specifically, this initiative reached eleven communities in the KEFFESO region of Bayelsa State.

Furthermore, the program ran from January 29 to February 1, 2025, reflecting the company’s ongoing dedication to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Moreover, it aligns with the provisions outlined in the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) 2021.

The outreach program actively targeted communities such as Koluama 1, Koluama 2, Ezetu 1, Ezetu 2, and Foropa.

Additionally, it included Fish Town, Ekeni, Sangana, Opu Okumbiri, Okumbiribeleu, and Oginibiri, broadening its reach.

Consequently, thousands of residents benefited from healthcare services, which offered medical consultations, screenings, and health education addressing local health challenges.

Olufemi Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer for NNPC Ltd, emphasized that these initiatives effectively promote health equity among underserved populations.

“Our outreach program demonstrates our commitment to the health and well-being of the communities where we operate,” Soneye stated.

Furthermore, we recognize the critical healthcare challenges these communities face, and we are dedicated to creating a lasting positive impact.

The NNPC/FIRST E & P JV operates under two Oil Mining Leases (OMLs): OML 83 (Anyala Field) and OML 85 (Madu Field).

These leases are located in the shallow waters of the Gulf of Guinea, just off the Bayelsa State coastline.

Through its CSR initiatives, the JV aims to foster sustainable community development.
