Police Authorities in Kano have denied the authenticity of a disturbing viral video depicting urban violence involving rival gangs.

The video, which lasts 1.58 minutes, shows a person being stabbed in the stomach and others suffering from various injuries.

The Kano Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Usaini Gumel, stated during a stakeholders meeting that the video does not depict any known location in Kano based on their preliminary investigations.

Despite efforts to identify the incident shown in the video, including visiting local health facilities to find victims, no concrete evidence has been found to support the video’s claims.

However, the police have arrested 22 individuals suspected of being involved in a separate attack on Muslim worshippers in Dorayi Karama, Kano. They are also actively searching for 30 other suspects linked to the same incident.

The Commissioner warned the fleeing suspects to surrender themselves before facing the consequences.

He also instructed the police to consider anyone seeking bail for the suspects as an accomplice.

Additionally, armed personnel have been deployed to the area, and 1000 tear gas canisters have been provided to maintain peace.

Community leaders present at the meeting agreed that individuals found with weapons should be dealt with by the police.
