On January 30, 2025, in Kano and Katsina States, Nigeria, Brigadier General YD Ahmed urged Corps Members to embrace values.

He specifically highlighted diligence, honesty, and perseverance as essential traits as they begin their service year.

While speaking at orientation camps in Kano and Katsina, he highlighted how vital these qualities are for achieving a successful future.

During an address to the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream Two Corps Members, General Ahmed emphasized the importance of integrity.

He encouraged the young volunteers at the Kusalla Dam camp in Kano to avoid misconduct jeopardizing their future aspirations.

Furthermore, speaking to those at the Mani Road camp in Katsina, he urged them to remain focused on their goals.

“This time isn’t merely about serving your country; it’s also about laying the groundwork for your future,” he emphasized.

The Director General encouraged Corps Members to honor the traditions and cultures of their host communities.

Moreover, he emphasized the importance of swift and meaningful integration after departing from the orientation camps.

“It’s crucial to add value to your host communities. Starting personal or group Community Development Service projects will improve the lives of those you serve,” he stated.

During her visit, Hajiya Halima Abdulkarim Abubakar, the NYSC Kano State Coordinator, provided an important update on registrations.

She reported that, in total, 1,821 Corps Members had registered at the camp, consisting of 930 males and 891 females.
