The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 elections, Mr. Peter Obi, has announced a national dialogue scheduled for Sunday, June 29, 2025.

He made this known via his official X handle, formerly Twitter, calling on Nigerians to join a virtual discussion.

According to Obi, the event will take place on the X Space platform by 8 PM West African Time (WAT).

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) reports that Obi’s message carried a strong appeal for collective action and patriotic responsibility.

The former Anambra State governor described the forthcoming conversation as “useful and constructive,” stressing the importance of rethinking Nigeria’s direction.

He urged citizens to engage meaningfully in redirecting the country toward progress, justice, and responsible governance.

Peter Obi’s message resonated with his signature theme of hope, reaffirming that a new Nigeria is still achievable.

“A new Nigeria is POssible,” he concluded, using the capitalized “PO” to reinforce his initials and political brand.

This announcement comes amid growing concerns over Nigeria’s worsening economy and rising insecurity.

Obi has consistently maintained that the country’s leadership must adopt ethical, transparent, and people-centered governance to prevent collapse.

His regular engagements on social media and digital platforms remain a source of encouragement for his supporters, especially the youth.

Political observers view Sunday’s X Space event as a continuation of Obi’s efforts to mobilize Nigerians toward national consciousness.

Since the end of the 2023 election, Obi has used digital forums to critique government policies and offer alternative ideas.

He has repeatedly called for reforms in education, healthcare, electricity, and job creation.

The Labour Party flag bearer remains a leading opposition voice, frequently challenging the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on issues of governance.

In recent months, he has intensified his message of hope and accountability, positioning himself as a symbol of resistance and renewal.

Supporters of the ‘Obidient’ movement, who have remained loyal since the elections, are expected to join the conversation in large numbers.

Many view Obi’s digital engagements as a continuation of the political revolution he sparked between 2022 and 2023.

Critics argue that online spaces have limited impact and call for more grassroots mobilization and structural reforms.

However, Obi insists that conversations like Sunday’s X Space are essential for building national awareness.

He emphasized that Nigeria’s problems cannot be solved without honest dialogue and active citizen participation.

As 2027 approaches, many believe Obi is laying the groundwork for another presidential bid.

Though he has not officially declared his intent, his actions suggest sustained political interest in shaping Nigeria’s future.

The X Space event is expected to feature interactive sessions where listeners can pose questions and share opinions.

Obi has maintained an open-door approach in his digital events, encouraging civil discourse and constructive criticism.

With inflation, naira devaluation, insecurity, and youth unemployment threatening the country, many citizens are searching for renewed leadership.

Obi’s call to action may be seen as an effort to keep public attention focused on long-term national reform.

Whether or not he contests again in 2027, his influence on Nigeria’s political landscape remains significant and growing.
