(DDM) – Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has urged investors across Nigeria and the diaspora to take advantage of the rising economic opportunities emerging in the state.
He made the call on Friday, 28 November 2025, while inaugurating the newly completed Swiss International Rancho Valerie Hotel located in Ubeji, Warri South Local Government Area.
DDM gathered that the governor described the massive hospitality project as a strong signal that Warri’s economic landscape is undergoing steady renewal.
He said the hotel stands as a modern symbol of confidence in the M.O.R.E. Agenda, which continues to attract private-sector interest into strategic sectors of the state’s economy.
Oborevwori stated that Warri is rising again, adding that deliberate government reforms are opening new pathways for investments in tourism, infrastructure, commerce, and real estate.
The governor emphasised that the commissioning of the multi-million-naira facility demonstrates that Delta State remains a secure and viable destination for capital inflow.
He maintained that the project signifies the resilience and entrepreneurial spirit of Deltans who are increasingly playing key roles in the state’s economic advancement.
Oborevwori explained that the hotel will not only elevate hospitality services in Warri but will also contribute to the overall vision of repositioning the city as a regional commercial hub.
He stressed that the investment will promote local enterprise by enabling small businesses, vendors, and service providers to benefit from the expected increase in commercial activity.
The governor further disclosed that the establishment of the hotel will provide employment opportunities for young people across Ubeji community and beyond.
He said the facility would help strengthen community peace as economic activities often reduce youth restiveness by creating alternative means of livelihood.
To support the smooth operations of the hospitality centre, Oborevwori ordered the immediate rehabilitation of failed portions of the Ubeji–Egbokodo–Refinery Road.
He noted that good infrastructure remains central to the state’s development agenda and assured residents that more road projects are underway across Delta.
The governor also commended the investors behind the project, describing their commitment as an example of patriotism and belief in the future of the state.
He encouraged other Deltans living abroad and within Nigeria to emulate such bold initiatives by bringing their investments home.
Oborevwori added that the government will continue to create an enabling environment that guarantees safety, investor protection, and predictable operational conditions.
He reiterated that Delta State is steadily progressing and assured that his administration remains focused on economic expansion, infrastructure renewal, and inclusive development.
Stakeholders in the hospitality sector applauded the launch, noting that it would help reposition Warri as a top destination for leisure, conferences, and business events.
Residents also expressed optimism that the new hotel would attract more visitors to the area and boost the local economy.
