The Oluwo of Iwo, Abdulrasheed Akanbi, has advised popular activist VeryDarkMan to consider transitioning from activism into active politics.
Speaking during a meeting at his palace, the monarch encouraged the outspoken influencer to contest for public office, suggesting a gradual rise through positions such as the House of Representatives and Senate, before eventually aiming for the presidency.
“I want you to start contesting for House of Reps, Senate, and then go for the presidency. You can’t keep being a human rights activist forever,” he said.
The Oluwo emphasized the distinction between wealth and political authority, arguing that power holds greater influence in shaping society.
“Power is different from money. Power will lock up money… we need youths like you to be in power,” he added.
His remarks have sparked conversations online about youth participation in governance, with many debating whether activists should step into political roles to drive change from within the system.
