OPSH troops rescue seven kidnap victims in Plateau State operation

Riyom, Plateau State — On March 10, 2025, Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH) troops rescued seven kidnap victims in Riyom LGA through swift military action.

Acting on intelligence, forces launched a precision raid, neutralizing captors and reclaiming the area without civilian harm.

Finally, authorities reunited the freed individuals with their families, reaffirming OPSH’s commitment to combating insecurity in Plateau State.

The rescue mission was part of the ongoing Operation LAFIYAN JAMA’A, aimed at combating criminal activities in the region.

Acting on credible intelligence, troops located the abductees at Attakar high grounds in Ganawuri district, Riyom LGA. Subsequently, they confirmed the hostages’ presence through coordinated surveillance.

Earlier, on March 7, 2025, attackers kidnapped the victims during an ambush along the Jos-Ganawuri road. Swift military intervention followed, prioritizing the victims’ safe recovery amid challenging terrain.

Troops overpowered the kidnappers’ resistance with superior firepower during the operation, forcing them to abandon captives and flee into rugged highlands.

Following the clash, authorities launched a thorough search, successfully rescuing seven victims from the area.

The rescued individuals include Mr. Sale Umar, Muhammadu Inusa, Abdullahi Abdulrasaq, Abdulsalam Muhammad, Muhammad Hamisu, Ibrahim Maradu, and Saidu Sani—all Bauchi State residents.

Additionally, troops recovered a bag containing a blanket and clothing materials left behind by the fleeing criminals.

Authorities promptly debriefed rescued victims to extract critical intelligence.

Transitioning swiftly, investigators prioritized actionable insights, ensuring coordinated strikes disrupted the group’s activities while safeguarding vulnerable communities from further threats.

After this process, they were safely reunited with their families.
