A severe traffic gridlock has brought movement to a near halt on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

According to Diaspora digital media (DDM) reports, the congestion stretches from Wawa Bus Stop to Otedola Bridge, leaving thousands of commuters stranded.

The traffic jam began in the early hours of the morning, causing frustration among road users.

Vehicles are moving at an agonizingly slow pace, with many people stuck for hours.

In a desperate attempt to escape, some motorists are using untarred sections of the road.

This diversion has worsened the situation by increasing dust pollution and creating more disorder.

Passengers and drivers have expressed their distress over the prolonged delay.

Many are questioning why authorities have not intervened quickly to manage the situation.

Eyewitnesses reported that an accident near Otedola Bridge might have triggered the gridlock.

However, as of the time of reporting, details of the crash remain unconfirmed.

Some witnesses claim that the aftermath of the accident has significantly slowed down movement.

A commuter, Mr. Samuel Adeoye, shared his frustration about being stuck for over three hours.

“This is incredibly frustrating,” he said, struggling to contain his anger.

“I have been here since morning, and we have barely moved an inch,” he added.

He believes there should be effective measures to prevent such prolonged delays.

Similarly, a commercial driver, Mrs. Bola Omotosho, called on authorities to take action.

“The government must do something about this road,” she stated firmly.

“Accidents and traffic jams happen too frequently here, affecting businesses and productivity,” she added.

The Lagos-Ibadan Expressway is notorious for frequent congestion and delays.

Accidents, road construction, and heavy traffic often contribute to the gridlock.

This latest incident highlights the urgent need for better traffic management strategies.

Prolonged disruptions like this impact businesses and daily activities negatively.

Authorities must implement measures to ensure smooth traffic flow in such situations.

Traffic officials are yet to clear any obstructions as of the time of this report.

Commuters remain hopeful that interventions will restore normal movement soon.

Many road users have started seeking alternative routes to avoid further delays.

However, options remain limited due to the road’s strategic importance.

Transport operators and businesses are experiencing significant losses due to the standstill.

Residents and regular users of the road are demanding long-term solutions to recurring traffic problems.

As the day progresses, all eyes remain on authorities to act swiftly.

Meanwhile, commuters should prepare for extended travel times and possible inconvenience.
