PESMDAA Commissioner interfaces with Directors on way forward

The Imo State Commissioner, Petroleum, Environment, and Solid Minerals Degradation Awareness Association PESMDAA, Hon Chief Sam Akah has interfaced with the Directors of the Association.

The meeting which held in Owerri on Sunday July 27th had in attendance all the directors and other key stakeholders. of the Association.

The Imo State commissioner while speaking to the media, said, it was the first meeting he was having with the Directors and he urged them to be committed to the assignment.

“Today we had our first meeting with
the directors of the organization and it went well .

“We highlighted on the need to show commitment and also talked about our state inauguration that is coming up in September this year.”

Hon Akah said, a committee should be set up that would look into the whole thing, as to find out those who are not serious and change them.

” A committee need to be set up that would look at the entire framework and find out those who are docile in a view to reviewing them and possibly effect changes where necessary.”

The former Local Government Executive Chairman said some of the directors even showed their unalloyed support and commitment by even contributing money for the entertainment.

According to him they all promised to work and do what whatever that is possible to ensure that the inauguration will speak volume.

” The aims and objectives of the organization, we all know are targeted at hydrocarbons and other related crimes

” And solid minerals as well as
environmental degradation,” he said.

The traditional prime Minister said next meeting will be in the office so that the members can discuss issues that concern the association deeply without interference or distractions.

“The environment where we had
our meeting today, so many people were around by way of their social outings.

“So we do hope that when the office is set from next week, that all our meetings will be done in an environment where we will be able to speak and hear ourselves”, Akah stated.

The Directors who were present included Nobleiyke Edoziem – Monitoring, Iwuoha Okey – Security, Engr Chief Emmanuel Ihemadu – Okigwe Zone, Prince Chidi Ohanwe – Planning, Comrade Amonu Chibuzo – Mobilization, Engr Madu Andrew – Coordinating Chairman, Pastor Austin Okoro – Media and Publicity

Others were Hon Mrs Nina Obieke – Oguta LGA Chairperson, Chief Emmanuel Ndukwu – Nkwerre LGA Chairman. Mr Franklyn Awujo – Secretary General, and Comrade Chief Bidwell Unogu – Chief of Staff.
