(DDM) – Former Anambra State governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has joined the people of Onitsha in celebrating the 2025 Ofala Festival of His Majesty, Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Alfred Achebe (Agbogidi).

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) gathered that the colourful festival, held in Onitsha, Anambra State, drew dignitaries, traditional rulers, and cultural enthusiasts from across Nigeria and beyond.

In a statement shared on his official X handle, Peter Obi described the Ofala Festival as “one of our most cherished cultural celebrations”, emphasizing its enduring significance in uniting the Onitsha people and showcasing the richness of Igbo heritage.

Obi revealed that he has been attending the Ofala Festival since his secondary school days at Christ the King College (CKC) Onitsha, underscoring his deep personal connection to the historic event.
