Peter Obi mourns murdered Kaduna Labour Party women leader

The Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Gregory Onwubuasi Obi, has expressed grief over the murder of the Labour Party’s women leader in Kaura, Kaduna State, Mrs. Victoria Chintex.

Mr. Peter Obi made the remarks on his Twitter handle on Wednesday.

Speaking, Obi condemned the ‘mindless killing of the Labour Party’s women leader’ by yet to be identified gunmen.

He said that her murder, as well as the loss of many innocent lives across the nation to gunmen and terrorists, are the reason why he must battle insecurity headlong when he assumes office.

While noting that “her death is a huge loss to her… family and to Labour Party, he said that wastage of human lives in Nigeria under any guise must be averted.

In a series of tweets, Peter Obi said:

“I am shocked by the mindless killing of Mrs. Victoria Chintex, the Labour Party’s women leader in Kaura, Kaduna State, by yet to be identified gunmen.

“Her death is a huge loss to her immediate and extended family, and to our Labour Party. She lives on in our hearts.

“Her killing, and the loss of many innocent lives across the nation to gunmen and terrorists, are the reason why I must prioritize the war against insecurity as my first task in office.

“We must not allow the waste of human lives in Nigeria under any guise.
