Peter Obi tops Google search trends in Q1 of 2023

The Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Gregory Obi, has once again topped charts in the trend of Google searches in Quarter 1 of 2023 in the “People” category, followed by his All Progressives Congress (APC) counterpart, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Google announced this on Tuesday when it released its search trend data in Nigeria between January and March, 2023.

According to the technology company, the data comprised of various searches generated on the company’s platform comprising of artistes, politicians, events and activities, et al.

Ukrainian professional footballer, Mykhailo Petrovych Mudryk, who plays for Premier League club Chelsea and the Ukraine national team, came third in the search category, followed by Ghanaian professional footballer, Christian Atsu.

Atsu went missing following the collapse of an apartment building in Hatay which was caught in a 7.8-magnitude earthquake that rocked Turkey and Syria on February 6, killing more than 54,000 people in both countries.

Former Vice President and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, was fifth in the category list.

The search trend includes “Top Trending People”, “Top Trending Searches”, “Top Trending Song”, “Top Trending ‘Who is’ Questions”, “Top Trending ‘When is’ Questions”, “Top Trending ‘How to’ Questions”.
