Popular Musician, Burna Boy Gets N100,000 Bail Term

The musician, Burna boy gets N100,000 bail term, having been alleged to be involved in armed robbery.

The Nigeria Police on Monday arraigned Burna Boy over a robbery attack, and he was granted bail.

On Friday, the popular hip pop singer, Burna Boy, was arrested by the lagos state police. He was later interrogated and after that he was detained.

The singer had to cancel his show which was scheduled to hold on Sunday, because he had to show up at the Magistrate Court on Sunday afternoon.

Burna Boy was charged with two offence, ‘accessory to the fact” and “Hoarding of information” that he knew about the robbery attack that happened at Eko Hotel & Suits but he didn’t inform the police about it.

Bright Idahosa who happened to be Burna boy defense counsel pleaded on his client behalf that he should be granted bail. The bail was granted with one foregone conclusion with a hundred thousand naira bail.

Grafton Record had no objection to the bail because according to them charges are bailable and he cannot be detain in prison.

The case has been adjourned to December 29, 2017.

It would be recalled that after the attack on Mr 2Kay in October 2017, the police immediately started investigations and in the process arrested four suspects who upon interrogation confessed to the crime.

They claimed Burna boy was the mastermind behind the crime. According to the suspects, he paid them a total of N100,000 to attack Mr 2Kay, N50,000 was paid before the crime and the balance was paid after the completed the operation.

Immediately after the confessions of the suspects, the police then declared Burna Boy wanted over the robbery and assault.
