Real Madrid triumphed over Pachuca with a 3-0 victory in the FIFA Intercontinental Cup final on Wednesday.

The match took place at Lusail Stadium in Qatar, showcasing Real Madrid’s dominance and skill throughout the game.

Kylian Mbappe opened the scoring in the 37th minute, converting a low cross from Vinicius Junior.

Rodrygo doubled the lead in the 53rd minute with a curling shot from the edge of the penalty box.

Vinicius Junior sealed the victory with an 84th-minute penalty after Lucas Vazquez was fouled.

Pachuca, despite their efforts, struggled to break through Real Madrid’s solid defense.

Thibaut Courtois made crucial saves, denying Pachuca’s captain Salomon Rondon’s free-kick and header attempts.

Real Madrid’s victory marked their first trophy of the season, boosting their confidence for upcoming competitions.

We knew that after a long trip and playing just one game it’s hard.

We struggled at the beginning, but we adapted well,”

Madrid midfielder Fede Valverde told Spanish television channel Telecinco.

It is Madrid’s second title of the season following their UEFA Super Cup triumph over Atalanta in August.

Coach Carlo Ancelotti praised his team’s performance, highlighting their preparation and execution during the match.

Carlo Ancelotti won his 15th trophy as Madrid coach, moving him past Miguel Munoz for the most in club history.

“I’m very pleased, very happy. It’s a success. That’s more than anyone else,” said Ancelotti.

This first FIFA-backed Intercontinental Cup edition maintains the Club World Cup format, featuring six continental champions.

The Club World Cup will expand to 32 teams in 2025, played every four years, unlike the 1960-2004 version.

Mbappe’s fitness was a concern before the game, but he played a pivotal role in the victory.

Pachuca reached the final by defeating Al Ahly on penalties in the Challenger Cup.

Real Madrid’s win adds to their impressive record in international competitions, including multiple Club World Cup titles.

The match demonstrated Real Madrid’s depth and talent, with key players contributing to the win.

The victory serves as a morale booster for Real Madrid, who have faced challenges this season.

The team’s focus now shifts to their domestic league and other international tournaments.
