Rivers violence hits crescendo; gunmen behead, abduct another

Unidentified gunmen, Thursday morning, have beheaded a citizen in Mgbuitanwo, Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The assailants also abducted another unsuspecting citizen within the same locality.

Emohua is the home country of the Senatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the Saturday’s rerun elections, Chief Andrew Uchendu.

The beheaded victim is 28-year-old Mr. Ukeoma.

Vanguard learnt that the gunmen who laid siege to the community also abducted another resident.

At the moment, residents are in shock and fear permeates the area ahead of Saturday’s national and state Assemblies’ rerun elections.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has decried the prevalent unbridled violence in Rivers State and promised to secure the affected areas before the elections.
