Romanian club signs up Nigerian soccer talent

There appears to be no end to European clubs’ interests in Nigeria’s soccer talents in the lower rung of football leagues after Romanian soccer giant, Asociația Fotbal Club UTA Arad signed on Olabode Solabi.

Commonly called UTA Arad, the Romanian club picked Solabi from Abbrey Sports an Ilorin based Nationwide League One, NLO, third tier league on three year deal.

Discribed as versatile points man with killer instinct within the 18 yards box, Solabi had a stint with Crown Football Club, Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

“The deal has been in the works for a while but we finally worked out the kinks and our boy, Solabi, is as good as Arad’s player as we speak,” said an Abbrey Sports official who declined stating what the deal was worth.

European clubs have shown more interest in clubs at the lower tier of Nigerian leagues, it has been learnt.

Transfer deal pundits say that reasons for this range from lower lower ages of the players, easier adaptability to their environment and good pricing.
