On Saturday, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu toured Alaro City, pledging accelerated infrastructure development for Lagos.
Transitioning swiftly, he spotlighted Lekki International Airport and the Green Line Rail as transformative economic catalysts.
Next week, aviation regulators will inspect the site, marking a critical step toward commencing Lekki International Airport’s construction.
The airport, once completed, is expected to serve as a catalyst for future investments and enhance connectivity in the state.
Sanwo-olu toured Alaro City along Lekki-Epe Expressway, inspecting Ariel Foods, BUA, TY Danjuma Logistics Park, and Universal Homes.
Transitioning swiftly, he praised the city’s rapid development, calling it a blueprint for Lagos’s economic growth.
Emphasizing urgency, he urged hesitant investors: “Alaro City proves progress waits for no one—act now to seize emerging opportunities here.”
This bold endorsement highlighted Lagos’s drive to attract global business partnerships.
The Governor also confirmed plans to commence work on the Green Line Rail project, which will stretch from Marina to Lekki.
He noted that funding arrangements for the project are already being finalized.

Speaking recently, Governor Sanwo-Olu commended former Lagos Governor Bola Tinubu for launching the Lekki Free Trade Zone two decades ago.
Highlighting Tinubu’s foresight, he stated, “President Tinubu’s vision laid this foundation—I witnessed its growth firsthand as his team member.”
Building on this momentum, Alaro City Chairman Ayo Gbeleyi praised Lagos State’s infrastructure upgrades and declared the corridor a premier investment destination.
Managing Director Yomi Ademola highlighted how strategic public-private partnerships successfully attracted significant investments and created local employment opportunities.
Specifically, he commended the six-lane Lekki-Epe Expressway, showcasing infrastructure growth, and the operational Lekki Deep Sea Port, enhancing trade capabilities.
Looking ahead, he anticipated transformative impacts from the upcoming Lekki International Airport and Green Line Rail projects.
Governor Sanwo-Olu concluded his remarks by expressing excitement about the future of Lagos State.
“There are life-changing projects happening now that will shape this area in the next decade.
The Lekki-Epe corridor is rapidly unlocking unprecedented opportunities,” he declared, emphasizing its growing economic potential.
