Saudi Clubs Monitor Rashford’s Situation at Manchester United
Three Saudi Arabian clubs are actively pursuing a deal to sign Marcus Rashford, according to reports.
The Manchester United forward is seeking a new challenge, having expressed his desire to leave Old Trafford in a recent interview.
Al Ahli, Al Ittihad, and Al Qadsiah are all monitoring his situation closely, with Al Ahli currently showing the strongest interest.
However, before proceeding, Al Ahli must first offload or de-register a foreign player to meet Saudi Pro League registration rules.
They are actively considering parting ways with club captain Roberto Firmino because of interest from Fenerbahce and Al Tauwoun.
Although Al Ittihad has shown previous interest, and Al Qadsiah continues to monitor him, Al Ahli seems to lead the race.
Despite interest from these three clubs, they may not effectively compete for Rashford’s signature during this transfer window.
Saudi Pro League sporting director Michael Emenalo is currently leading the effort to register Rashford with a specific club.
It’s unclear whether Rashford would consider a move to Saudi Arabia in 2025, as United hasn’t received serious offers yet.
Rashford has stated, “For me, personally, I think I’m ready for a new challenge and the next steps ahead.”
When he leaves, he said there would be ‘no hard feelings’ towards Manchester United or the club’s fans.
He emphasized that he would refrain from making negative comments about Manchester United during his departure.
Furthermore, Rashford planned to address his exit on his own terms and timing, focusing on a positive transition.
“I’ve seen how other players have left in the past, and I don’t want to be that person,” he added.
Reflecting on his career, Rashford noted, “I’m halfway through my career. I don’t expect my peak to be now.”
He acknowledged the lessons learned during his nine years in the Premier League, stating, “I take things day by day.
Sometimes bad things happen, sometimes good things happen.
I just try and keep a fine balance.”
Having been with Manchester United for 20 years, Rashford joined the club at age seven.
He made his first-team debut at just 18, scoring twice in that match and netting another brace later.
Rashford has celebrated two FA Cup victories with United, one in the 2015/16 season and another last term.
