Sen Orji Uzor Kalu flags off solar street lights installation in Arochukwu

The Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has flagged off the installation of solar street lights across Arochukwu Local Government Area.

During the flag-off last week, Senator Kalu said the project will increase the social and economic activities in the council area.

The ceremony was performed by the member representing Arochukwu State Constituency, Hon Mike Ukoha on behalf of the Chief Whip of the Senate, noting that the solar installation will get to all parts of the local government area.

He commended Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, for his kind gesture towards the people of Arochukwu and for providing the solar street lights to his people.

Hon. Ukoha described Senator Kalu as a man of equity for ensuring that each of the clans received 20 solar street lights, saying that “this is part of the dividends of democracy our people desired”.

He applauded Senator Kalu for attracting massive projects to the Senatorial District, saying “He has shown that Senators can attract projects to his people”.

Hon. Ukoha pledged the unalloyed support of Arochukwu Local Government Area to the former Abia state governor.

Also speaking, a stakeholder from the council area, Hon. John Okoro, appreciated Senator Kalu for providing the solar street lights to the people.

Contributing, a political leader, Mazi Precious Ngwu (Bongidi), thanked Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, for providing the solar street lights and Hon. Ukoha, for bringing it home.

Speaking at Ututu community, two indigenes of the area, Mr. Kalu Okeke and Nwankwo Sunday, lauded Senator Orji Kalu for always remembering Ututu people in the scheme of things.

They stated that with the solar street lights being installed, it will make the movement of the people easier at night and promised to support him come 2023.

The project contractor, Engr. Chukwu Ifeanyi, explained that each of the 5 clans in Arochukwu LGA received 20 solar street lights.

He further stated that within the next few hours every where will be glowing with lights and expressed delight for handling the contract for the installation.
