Senator Misau Arraigned Over Row With IGP Idris, Granted N5m Bail
The Nigerian Police on Thursday arraigned the senator representing Bauchi Central Senatorial District, Isah Hamma Misau, for allegedly making false allegation against the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris,
Senator Misau, it could be recalled, raised alarm over promotion scam being perpetrated by the police boss to the humongous tune of N120 billion.
He also alleged that the IGP impregnated his junior officer and secretly wedded her.
He was consequently arraigned on Thursday before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Maitama, Abuja.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to all the five counts when they were read to him.
The trial judge, , who is the
Chief Judge of the FCT High Court, Justice Ishaq Bello, who presided over the trial, granted him bail in the sum of N5m with two reliable sureties in like sum.
The trial was fixed November 28 and 29 by Justice Bello.
