The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) has issued warning to the general public about fake appointment scams.
This was made known via a timed display on the official website, by the Director, Information (Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation), Mr. Segun Imohiosen.
The press release reads: “The attention of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation has been drawn to a certain fraudster, Mr. Musa Madugu, who has been defrauding unsuspecting Nigerians with fake appointments and claiming to be representing or being affiliated with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, CON.
“In addition, the fraudster with this phone number, 08033453597, has been swindling people with a cloned phone number, 08032260729, purported to be SGF’s on True Caller; through which he was able to fleece the public of their hard earned money.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the aforementioned phone number does not emanate from the SGF.
“And Mr. Musa Madugu is not an employee of the OSGF, and has no any affiliation whatsoever with the SGF.
“In this regard, the Office expressly disclaims all liabilities for or damages of any kind arising out of having any transaction with this fraudster.
“The general public is hereby notified that the OSGF has no mandate to offer employments to Boards of the various Agencies, Parastatals and Extra-Ministerial Departments.
“Also, members should desist from having any transaction with job racketeers claiming to be from the OSGF.
“In view of the above, the SGF warns fraudster to desist forthwith from using his Office to dupe members of the public or face the wrath of the law.

Beware! IPOB cautions media on misattributing movement members
Some media outlets have been cautioned by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) global family and movement not to denigrate IPOB by associating with a person who has consistently said that he is not a member of the movement.
The IPOB Media and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful, claims that IPOB has separated itself from the media both at home and abroad. This includes the international movement from printed and electronic media outlets, as well as its exiled Biafra government, which includes their current prime minister.
In his words: “The global family and movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) caution some media houses to stop insulting IPOB by attaching someone to the movement who have on several occasions said he is not an IPOB member.
“IPOB have severely disassociated itself to the media houses both locally and internationally including associated global movement from printing and electronic media houses from attaching those autopilots and their Biafra government in Exile including their current prime minister in Exile.
“We warn those media houses attaching the content creator to please stop… they are not IPOB members and can never be.
“IPOB and its leader Mazi Nnamdi Okwuchukwu Kanu are different people, not members of government in Exile.
“Any self serving on these individuals to keep tagging a content creator to the noble IPOB family will soon be defeated.
“If the purpose of these traducers in some sections of the print and electronic media is to pander to a warped sentiment that seeks to demean and demonise IPOB for the benefit of Fulani killer herdsmen and their sponsors, then they have failed.
“Simon Ekpa is a self confessed content creator and the head of a group of social media content creators known as Autopilots which were never part of the IPOB structure.
“So why the persistence in attaching somebody who declared publicly that he is not a member of IPOB to the peaceful movement?
“IPOB’s pursuit of self determination through the instrumentality of a UN supervised referendum is our only stated mission.
“Any entity or media house attaching or forcibly ascribing IPOB membership to nonentities or whomsoever they like are only being mischievous and not intereated in true journalism.
“We suggest that these individuals associating content creators to IPOB to please conduct minor research into the speech and publicly stated utterances of these clueless and uninformed individuals masquerading as Autopilots to ascertain once and for all that they are not part of IPOB”, the statement concluded.
