(DDM) – Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to strengthening security partnerships and sustaining peace across Delta State.
The Governor made this assurance on Friday, 28 November 2025, during an official security briefing held at the Government House in Asaba, the capital of Delta State.
In his remarks, Oborevwori emphasized that his administration’s security approach is rooted in close collaboration with law enforcement agencies, community stakeholders, and local authorities to ensure a safer environment for all Deltans.
He highlighted that under his leadership, community policing support, improved intelligence-sharing, and stronger inter-agency coordination have become central pillars of the state’s peace and security framework.
The Governor noted that protecting the lives and property of citizens remains a top priority of his administration, stressing that security is not solely a government responsibility, but a shared obligation between the government, security institutions, and the people.
According to him, meaningful progress in safety and crime-prevention efforts depends on trust, cooperation, and consistent engagement between residents and the security architecture guiding the state.
Oborevwori reaffirmed that the government would continue to invest in mechanisms that promote peace, social harmony, and responsive law enforcement capable of addressing emerging threats.
He added that his administration is committed to creating an atmosphere where every resident of Delta State can live, work, invest, and flourish without fear, noting that security remains fundamental to sustainable development.
The Governor also emphasized that his government will maintain open channels of communication with security agencies and community leaders to ensure prompt responses to issues that threaten peace or stability.
He assured residents that Delta State will continue prioritizing proactive security measures, strengthening collaboration, and deepening community involvement as part of ongoing efforts to safeguard the state.
Governor Oborevwori concluded by urging citizens to support law enforcement, report suspicious activities, and uphold peaceful coexistence for the collective progress of Delta State.
